PRE-OPERATION
CHECKS
PRE-SELECTION OF FINAL
SPEED
The pre-selectable top speed can be set
with the
- and
- keys after the
control box has been switched on (by
pressing the ON/OFF key).
!
Attention:
Adapt and reduce speed when
traveling up or downhill in accord-
ance with gradient. However, never
exceed the permitted top speed (6
or 10 km/h depending on version).
– Danger of accidents!
Have you selected an appro-
priate maximum final speed?
The maximum final speed should reflect
the given conditions.
!
Attention:
Risk of accident by the selection of an
inappropriate maximum final speed
setting!
Always select a low final speed in
driving situations which you do not
feel comfortable with (e.g. opera-
tion in confined spaces or traveling
uphill on ramps etc.).
2. Situation:
Crossing a road junction.
Necessary setting: high maximum
speed
Incorrect setting:
Low maximum speed
Consequence:
The wheelchair does not cross the junc-
tion quickly enough.
Accident risk due to oncoming
vehicles!
Top-speed indication on LED
control box (Fig. 10)
The top speed has a default setting of
100% after the control box has been
switched on (by pressing the ON/OFF
key [34] (Fig. 10).
The top speed can be set to one of 4
levels (each 25%) with the
- and
- keys (also whilst driving).
The lit LED indicates the selected top
speed.
Level:
(pre-selection indication)
4
=
100% (maximum top speed)
3
=
75% (almost max. top speed)
2
=
50% (top speed reduced to
one-half)
1
=
25% (greatly reduced top
speed) – not selectable!
Have you selected an appro-
priate maximum final speed?
Risk of accident by the selection of an
inappropriate maximum final speed set-
ting!
Always select a low final speed in driv-
ing situations which you do not feel com-
fortable with (e.g. operation in confined
spaces or traveling uphill on ramps
etc.).
This can be highlighted by two exam-
ples:
1. Situation:
Use in the home.
Necessary setting: low maximum speed
Incorrect setting:
High maximum speed
Consequence:
Small movements of the joystick cause
the wheelchair to set off at speed.
The operator loses control in the con-
fined space of the home. – Danger of
accidents!
