Protection of the connection outlets
The CEE sockets (item 20-7) are protected by automatic circuit-breakers (item 22-2).
The shuttered sockets (item 20-8) are protected by automatic circuit-breakers (items 22-3, 22-4
and 22-5).
4.7.4.
Variospeed load-dependent speed control
Power generators are often run at powers less than their maximum continuous rating. More often
the requirement is similar to the EVU network, where power can be called up instantly on demand.
The Variospeed technology reduces the speed of the engine and increases it again instantly when
electric power is demanded. This dramatically reduces fuel consumption, exhaust emissions, noise
and wear.
A special electronic processor employs measurement systems and sensors to monitor the operating
state of the overall unit and controls the drive engine accordingly. This means that the control system
is operative immediately even at a cold start and requires no additional user intervention.
Shortly after the last electrical power demand, the speed of the drive engine is reduced by approx
20% to 40%, depending on the type of unit. The power generator remains ready for use. The
controller increases the engine performance to its rated speed and power only when required to
provide the electric power that is demanded. A selector switch (item 16-10) allows the load-
dependent speed control to be deactivated if required
4.7.5.
Oil automatic shut-off
The drive engine is equipped with an automatic oil level shut-off. This safety device shuts the
engine down if the oil level becomes too low. The engine cannot then the restarted. Only after the
oil level has been corrected by refilling to the maximum marking on the oil dipstick can the engine
be started
