7. Collector mounting on pitch roof general
remarks
General requirements
The collectors must not be mounted on roofs with a pitch smaller than 20°!
If a collector's inclination is smaller than 20°, the venting of the collector is may not
be sufficient.
The mounting system can be used for roofs with pan tiles type "Frankfurter
Pfanne" or similar and plain tiles as well as fiber-cement corrugated plates. For
natural roofs, let skilled tiler specialists do the installation.
Please note that additional materials might be needed.
For the roof feed-through for supply and return flow, two ventilation tiles are
needed (can be obtained in specialized trades for construction materials).
Also, spare tiles should be ready in case some tiles break during installation.
Depending on the roof construction, It might be necessary to underlay the roof
hook with filler timbers.
Please also provide tools to transport the collectors onto the roof.
Earthing and lightning protection.
The metal pipes of the solar circuit must be connected to the main equipotential
bus bar of the building with a green/yellow conductor of at least 16 mm²Cu.
If there is no lightning arrester present, no other lightning protection measures
must be taken. If there is a lightning arrester, the collectors must be incorporated.
If this is not possible, the earthing must be established with a deep-driven earthing
rod and an external earthing line outside the house. The earthing line must also be
connected with the main equipotential bus bar with a conductor of the same
profile.
Additional remark:
Allow 15-20 cm for the connections of the collectors.
