SPARK ARRESTOR:
If the generator has been running, the muffler will be very hot. Allow it
to cool before proceeding.
NOTE:
Remove and clean spark arrestor every 100 hours or as necessary.
NOTE: Product users on United States forest service land, and in some states,
must comply with fire prevention regulations.
Clean the spark arrestor as follows:
1. Loosen the screw by the exhaust port of the muffler and remove
the spark arrestor.
2. Use a brush to remove carbon deposits from the spark arrestor screen.
Inspect the screen for breaks or tears and replace it if necessary.
3. Install the spark arrestor in the reverse order of removal.
Spark arrestors are available from your local Mi-T-M Customer Ser-
vice. Other user requirements may apply, check with your Federal,
State or local authorities.
PERIODIC MAINTENANCE CHART:
To ensure satisfactory operation over an extended period of time, an
engine requires normal maintenance at regular intervals. The Periodic
Maintenance Chart below shows periodic inspection and mainte-
nance items and suitable intervals. The bullet mark designates that
the corresponding item should be performed at that interval.
NOTE: Some adjustments require the use of special tools or other equipment.
An electronic tachometer will facilitate setting idle and running speeds.
