3.2.8 External operating display
(to be supplied by the customer)
Using an additional external operating
display, the operation of the ventilation unit
can be displayed, for example, in a building
utility room. The external operating display
has to be supplied by the customer.
3.2.9 Differential pressure control
(to be supplied by the customer )
A differential pressure controller is required if
the ventilation unit is being operated at the
same time as an air-ventilated fireplace.
The differential pressure control (for example
Wodtke DS 01) serves as safety equipment
to monitor pressure ratios between the waste
gas pipe and room where the unit is installed.
If necessary, the fans in the ventilation unit
are switched off.
Note the rules applicable to operations
with fireplaces in chapter 4.4.
3.2.10 Smoke switch
(to be supplied by customer)
A smoke switch is a safety device for the
early identification of the presence of smoke
and for preventing it spreading within
residential units through the ventilation
system.
If required, the smoke switch switches off
the fans in the ventilation unit.
You should also pay special attention to
the fire protection requirements in
Chapter 4.4.2.
4. Safety instructions
4.1 General
● Before installation and com-
missioning of the unit, read
these mounting and operating
instructions carefully.
● Pass the instructions over to
the owner for safekeeping for
future use.
● Ask your installer to familiarise
you with the ventilation unit
and the room air control once
the installation is completed.
● This fan unit can be used by
children aged 8 and above,
and by people with reduced
physical, sensory or mental
capabilities or by persons with
insufficient experience or
knowledge provided they are
supervised by a person
responsible for their safety,
or they have been instructed
about the safe operation of the
unit and can understand the
resulting risks thereof.
Children must not play with
the unit. Cleaning and
maintenance must not be
carried out by children without
supervision.

Never operate the ventila-
tion unit without a filter.
