Telnet Commands

at the Telnet command line for a list of commands supported by CM
SNMP (Figure F-9). Table F-N defines the Telnet commands.
Telnet commands for the CM SNMP radio are organized into the same four functions
as the MIB:
performance
,
configuration
,
fault
, and
diagnostic
. Telnet displays perfor-
mance statistics, executes configuration commands, and displays radio settings. Telnet
also lets you configure, display, and reset radio alarms and radio diagnostics. The next
section discusses command usage.

Command Description
arp
Address Resolution Protocol. Builds tables to translate an address in a
protocol address space into a 48-bit Ethernet address.
community
A ‘community table' exists in the router that contains several entries with
parameters that define the attributes of the community.
date
Displays day, month, day of month, military time, and year.
display
Shows node, agent, or network information according to set options
download
Transfer updated firmware files to the SNMP NMU
help
Lists the Telnet commands. Enter help plus the Telnet command for a
description of that command.
ifconfig
Lists the settings of the network interfaces and allows changes.
localcli
Identifies the local command-line interface (NMU connection)
nestat
Summarizes network usage statistics.
passwd
Change the current password.
ping
Shows if a given host is alive and the round trip transmission time.
reboot
Reboots the NMU software.
reset_log
Resets system, radio, or alarm log.
route
Manually manipulate the network routing tables.
setup_ppp
Configure interface 2 (
IF
2)–the 64-kbps interface over the radio link.
shutdown
Shut down the radio.
ver
Display the NMU software revision.
whoami
Display name of connected radio and user name.
radioname
Display and change the radio name.
syndestype
Display or set the Syndes interface type: 4DS1, 8DS1, 12DS1, 28DS1,
1DS3, 3DS3, OC3.
