DS3 and SONET Electrical Connectors
– 50-
Ω
BNC connectors for DS3 or 155-
Mbps data I/O. Jumpers, listed below, on the Line I/O board behind the access panel
set DS3 configuration.
3.
Network Ports
–
For P4 (
MNI proprietary
) Network
: Two modular jacks that con-
nect proprietary network management data between co-located radios and to Telescan
network management system. Uni- or omni-directional configuration requires an asso-
ciated Network Management Unit (NMU) and the configuration of the Network Bridge
Interface.
Network Ports
–
For SNMP
: Two modular jacks connect radio support data to an
Ethernet network. Activity indicators show when the link connects and data transfers
between radio and a network manager. For more SNMP information, see Appendix G.
4.
LED Indicators
5.
Fuses
– Four telecommunications type fuses (GMT) for A Radio RF, A Radio SP, B
Radio RF, B Radio SP.
6.
VF Jack
–VF1, VF2 (voice frequency channels). Each VF channel has three modular
jacks to bridge the VF orderwire.
7.
DGTL CH
n
Jack
–DGTL CH1, CH2 (digital channel). Modular jack for digital chan-
nel connections. Channels accommodate 150 bps to 19.2 kbps asynchronous data at
RS232 levels. SCU configuration jumpers set the data rate.
8.
SCE Jack
–Modular jack for Status and Control Extender (SCE) connection. The SCE
extends Alarm/Control relays to provide system alarm, status, and performance infor-
mation to, and controls from remote equipment. See the
SCE Operation Manual
, order
P/N 6885104E05.
9.
TTL I/O
–DB15 for TTL input and output to the NMU.
10.
Alarm/Control Relay
–DB25 connector to system alarm, status, and performance in-
formation to, and controls from, remote alarm monitoring equipment.
