There is no salt in the salt
reservoir.
Add dishwasher reactiva-
tion salt, see "Before using
for the first time".
The salt reservoir cap has
not been screwed on cor-
rectly.
Replace it making sure it
screws back on correctly.
Combination dishwasher
detergent tablets contain-
ing rinse aid and/or salt
may have been used.
These are unsuitable as
long term use can impair
the softener unit.
Use a standard liquid,
tablet or powder deter-
gent.
There is a fault with the
automatic water softening
system.
Call the Miele Service De-
partment.
Smearing appears on
glassware and cutlery,
there is a bluish sheen
on the surface of glass-
ware; film can be wiped
off.
The rinse aid dosage is
set too high.
