Functions which do not use
microwave energy
Fan plus
U
This system works by the circulation of
heated air. As the heated air reaches
the food straight away, temperatures
are lower than those needed for
"Conventional heat" where the heat is
directed at the food from above and
below.
When using Fan plus you can cook on
two different levels at the same time.
Conventional heat
V
This is useful where a fairly long
cooking time and a deep colour and
good rise are needed.
Grill
Y
This function can be used for grilling
thin cuts and for browning cooked
dishes, e.g. pasta bakes. The grill is
ready for use when it glows red.
Auto roast
[
The oven heats initially to a high
temperature (230 °C) which seals the
meat to keep it succulent and tasty. As
soon as this temperature has been
reached, the oven temperature
automatically drops back down to the
pre-selected setting.
Defrost
P
For gently defrosting frozen food.
Fan heat
U
Only one shelf level can be used with
Fan heat.
Intensive bake
O
This function lends itself to recipes
which require a moist topping and a
crisp base, e. g. cheese cake, pizza,
Quiche Lorraine and open fruit flans.
Intensive bake is not suitable for
shallow baking or roasting because the
food may burn.
Fan grill
\
Temperatures used for Fan grill are
lower than those used with the Grill
function.
For grilling thick cuts, e.g. rolled meat,
poultry.
Bottom heat
X
Select this function at the end at the
baking time if you want your cake to be
browner on the bottom than on the top.
