Installation
Safety regulations prohibit the fitting
of a cooker hood over solid fuel
stoves.
Ensure the ceiling is strong enough
to support the cooker hood.
The minimum safe distance (
S
) be-
tween the top of the cooker/hob and
the bottom of the cooker hood
should be at least:
– 550 mm above electric cookers/hobs
– 650 mm above gas cookers/hobs
– 650 mm above an open grill.
See “Warning and Safety instruc-
tions” for further notes on safe in-
stallation.
A distance of 650 mm above electric
cookers/hobs may be preferrable to
give more working space.
Installation
– Draw a line on the ceiling centrally
above the hob as illustrated and
then draw another line parallel to it at
a distance of 200 mm to use as a
guide.
– Make a hole in the ceiling directly
above the centre point of the hob (ø
190 mm) for the ventilation ducting.
– Position the ceiling plate and align
with the guide line.
Mark the position of the 4 holes
b
for
fixing the ceiling plate in position and
then mark the position for the mains
cable
c
.
If the cooker hood is to be con-
nected to an external fan, the posi-
tion for the connecting cable
d
also
needs to be marked.
– Feed the mains connection cable
and ø 150 mm ventilation ducting
through the ceiling.
If site conditions are not suitable for ø
150 mm ventilation ducting then ø 125
mm ventilation ducting can be used, in
which case a suitable reducing collar is
needed which can be purchased from
your supplier or from the Spare Parts
Dept., (see “Installation – Extraction”
for further details).
