To defrost
Carry out the defrosting procedure
as quickly as possible if food has
not been placed in another freezer.
The longer the food is left out at
room temperature, the faster it
defrosts.
^
Switch the appliance off at the wall
socket and remove the plug.
^
Open the freezer compartment door.
^
Use a sponge or towel to soak up the
defrosted water.
To speed up defrosting, a bowl with hot
water (not boiling) can be placed in the
freezer compartment. Closing the door
in this instance will help retain warmth
and speed up the defrosting process.
We do not recommend the use of
hot air blowers such as hairdryers
for defrosting your freezer.
Never place electric heaters or
candles in the appliance to defrost
it. These can damage the plastic
parts.
Do not use defrosting sprays or
de-icers, as they could contain
substances which may damage the
plastic parts and which may cause a
build-up of gases and pose a
danger to health.
After defrosting
^
Clean the appliance, and then dry it
thoroughly.
Do not let water get into the
condensate channel and drain hole.
^
Insert the plug in the appliance, and
switch the appliance back on.
^
Place the frozen food into the freezer
compartment again.
