Storing food in the PerfectFresh zone
38
Dry compartment
The dry compartment is ideal for storing
foods which perish easily, such as
– fish and seafood;
– meat, poultry and sausages;
– salads and lettuce;
– dairy products, e.g. yogurt, cheese,
cream, quark etc;
– you can also use the dry compart-
ment to store all kinds of food,
providing it is wrapped.
The main advantage of the dry com-
partment is the low temperature (rather
than the humidity). The humidity in the
dry compartment is approximately the
same as in a standard refrigerator.
Please note that food rich in protein de-
teriorates faster than other types of
food.
Shellfish, for example, deteriorates
faster than fish, and fish deteriorates
faster than meat.
Always keep these foods
covered or
wrapped
.
Humidity-controlled compart-
ment
The humidity level in the humidity-con-
trolled compartment greatly depends
on the type and quantity of food being
stored, if stored unwrapped.
If the quantity of food being stored in
this compartment is small, the humidity
level may be too low.
Tip:
If you are only storing a small
amount of food, wrap it in airtight pack-
aging.
High humidity in the humidity-con-
trolled compartment can cause con-
densate to build up on the floor of
the compartment as well as beneath
the lid.
Wipe off any condensate with a
cloth.
