allysetbeforetheautomaticcalibrationcanbeof
anyuse.Theautomaticcalibrationisbasedonthe
currentairpressure,thestandardairpressureatsea
level(1013hPa)andthemanuallysetaltitudeand
doesnotsettheactualaltitudeautomatically.The
actualaltitudeshouldnotbeascertainedviaGPS
devicesorsimilarastheresultscanbeinaccurate.
Thebestsourcestodeterminethecorrectaltitudeof
yourpositioncanbefoundeitherintheinternetor
onknownlocationssuchasbridgesetc.wherethe
altitudeisdistinctlymarkedontheirexterior.Itis
recommendedtogototheselocationsifnecessary,
tosetthealtitudeon-sitebeforeusingthealtimeter
elsewhere.TheMINOXBN7x50DCcannotguarantee
a100%accuratealtitudereading.Thealtimeteris
designedtoprovidearelativereadingbasedonthe
currentairpressureofthesurroundings.

Beingthatthealtimeterisbarometric,
thealtitudereadingmayfluctuatedependingon
changingairpressure.Itmightbenecessarytoset
thealtitudemanuallyatregularintervalsiftheair
pressurechangesfrequently.
Manual calibration of the altimeter
Wheninthealtimetermode,presstheOn/Offbut-
ton(10)once.Youwillnowsee„SETALT“intheLCD
displayaswellastheunitsettingofmeters(m).Setthe
altitudebypressingthenavigationbuttons(3)eitherup
ordown.PushingtheOn/Offbutton(10)oncewillsave
yoursettingandbringyoubacktothealtimetermode.
Youraltimeterisnowcalibrated.
