BEST PRACTICES WHEN TEACHING A ROUTE
• Drive in a straight path as much as possible.
• Don’t teach a route with an incline or decline.
• Don’t teach routes that include driving into an elevator or automatic doors.
• Avoid sudden turns and/or turning the steering wheel too sharply when driving.
• Maintain a safe distance of approximately 1½ ft (18 in) from the edge of ramps, platforms, cliffs, and glass.
• Avoid U-turns. The RoboScrub 20 requires a width of at least 8½ feet to perform a U-turn. Avoid making U-turns as
much as possible.
• Avoid tight spaces. The RoboScrub 20 requires a width of at least 3½ feet when driving a straight line and 4½ feet to
make turns around a corner or when turning into an aisle.
• Teach routes when the area is mostly clear of obstacles and people that may block the RoboScrub 20’s path.
• If a route is taught in an area with obstructions that are later removed, the RoboScrub 20 will not clean any areas
previously occupied by those obstructions.
• Once a route is taught, test it to ensure the RoboScrub 20 can perform the route in robotic mode successfully. If many
assists are triggered during the test run, the route may include maneuvers that are dif
fi
cult to perform robotically.
• Avoid teaching routes over 45 minutes long. The RoboScrub 20 runs at approximately half speed when operating in
robotic mode; therefore, it can take up to 1½ hours to robotically clean a route that only took 45 minutes to run manually.
