Installation and first-time operation
microSD card
This section provides a brief overview on how to use the microSD card. Contact
your system administrator for more information.
Information on the microSD card
Under the battery inside the phone there is a recess for an optional microSD card. This
special microSD card stores the phone's login data for your communication system and
the main local device data in your settings menu (display, profiles, alarm configuration).
This ensures that, in the event of a device defect, normal operations can resume in the
shortest time and without having to log in again, simply by transferring the card to the
replacement device. Conventional microSD cards cannot be used.
Logging your phone on
Registering your phone on the system
Your system administrator has to prepare the system before you can log on your phone.
Your phone can be operated on a maximum of 4 different communication systems. To do
so, it must be registered on each system. As a rule your phone is registered with the com-
munication system by your system administrator. Contact your system administrator for
more information.
Once the phone is registered with one or more communication systems, you can make
and receive phone calls (see also chapter "Managing communication systems", page 84).
Registration
A registration is stored on the phone for each communication system with which your
phone is registered. A registration entry contains, among others, a system name (e.g.
A,B,C).
If your phone is registered with several systems, the name of the active system is shown
on the display.
Note:
Do not use the microSD card on other devices (e.g. camera) to make sure the card is not
accidentally reformatted and there is sufficient storage space available.
Once it has been deleted or formatted, the card can no longer be used in your phone.
Ask your system administrator from which device hardware/software release the microSD
card is supported.
