Router
If a router is connected to the local internal network, designate it as the
default gateway to other networks. Program its IP address as the
System Gateway IP on the CXi.
IP Network Configuration Procedures
Updating the System IP Information
•
In Form 47 (IP Networking), Subform 01 (System IP), program the
following parameters:
Parameter
Value Required
System IP Address
Provides call control functionality and management
access to the system. Default is 192.168.1.2.
System Netmask
Network mask of the management IP address. Default
is 255.255.255.0.
System Gateway IP
Enter the IP address of the default gateway to the
Internet. If there is only one subnetwork on the LAN,
enter the IP address of the CXi's Layer 2 Switch, or the
IP address of the APC (if installed). If there are multiple
subnets, enter the IP address of the router connected to
the local subnet. In all cases, DHCP server option 3
should be the same as the System Gateway IP to
ensure that all DHCP clients use the proper default
gateway. Default is 192.168.1.1.
L2 Switch IP Address
IP address of the Layer 2 switch on the LAN interface of
the CXi. Default is 192.168.1.1.
Hostname
System hostname, which is required for e-mail
notification. It must be a valid domain name that has
been registered in your DNS or listed in your e-mail
server's Hosts file.
FTP Server
IP address of the FTP server used to install software in
the controller or to upload Maintenance logs and
database backups/restores.
FTP Username
Name used to access the FTP server.
FTP Password
Password used to access the FTP server.
