FR-XC multifunction regeneration converter
For information on the FR-XC multifunction regeneration converter, refer to the FR-XC Instruction Manual
(IB(NA)0600668ENG).
Precautions
• Turn on switch 1 (common bus mode) of the FR-XC function selection switch (SW2).
• Do not apply power to the main circuit power supply terminals (L1/L2/L3) of the servo amplifier. Doing so will cause the
servo amplifier and FR-XC to malfunction.
• Ensure that the DC power supplies connected to the FR-XC and servo amplifier are wired using the correct polarity.
Incorrect polarity will cause the servo amplifier and FR-XC to malfunction.
• Regenerative capacity cannot be improved by connecting two or more FR-XC units.
Servo amplifier settings
Set the parameters as follows when using the FR-XC.
• [Pr. PA02.0-1]: 01/[Pr. PA02.4]: 0
• [Pr. PA04.2]: 0/[Pr. PA04.3]: 0
Capacity selection
Selection conditions
The FR-XC multifunction regeneration converter can be used with 200 V class 100 W to 7 kW servo amplifiers. Use the
following conditions to select a multifunction regeneration converter.
• 10 servo amplifiers or less per FR-XC unit
• Total capacity of the servo amplifiers [kW]

Total capacity of FR-XC connectable servo amplifiers [kW]
• Effective value of the total capacity of the servo motors [kW]

Continuous output of the FR-XC [kW]
• Maximum value of the total servo motor output power [kW]
