Troubleshooting Shut Down
Problems.
A common symptom in today's TVs is the TV turns
On and then shuts Off. This can be due to a problem in
the Deflection or HV circuitry, such as:
• Vertical Deflection loss
• Horizontal Deflection loss
• Excessive HV
• Excessive Beam current
The built in LED Diagnostic Mode helps determine the
cause of the shut down. When the Diagnostic Mode is
activated the front panel LED flashes a two digit error
code.
The LED flashes the value of the most significant digit
(MSD) of the code first, then flashes the value of the
least significant digit (LSD) of the code. The error code
is repeated 5 times. If the LED flashes twice, pauses
then flashes 4 times the Error Code is 24. The code
specifies the reason the TV switched Off.
Table 1
Lists
the possible error codes.
To activated the Error Code, press the front panel "In-
put" and "Menu" buttons at the same time, and hold for
5 seconds. The LED will flash error code that caused
the TV to shut down.
