Insulation Monitoring

The power generating system MobiE is designed as an IT system. This
means, that the neutral point of the generator is unearthed. No active
electrical conductor of the system has a low-resistance conductive
connection to the equipotential bonding (earth).

In accordance with DIN VDE 0100-410 (VDE 0100 Part 410),
insulation monitoring function has been integrated as protection against
indirect touch.
Clause 413.1.5.4 of DIN VDE 0100-410 (VDE 0100 Part 410), which
is identical with the International standard IEC 60364-4-41, says
(quote):

In cases where an IT system is used for reasons of continuity of supply, an
insulation monitoring device shall be provided to indicate the occurrence of
a first fault from a live part to exposed –conductive-parts or to earth. This
device shall initiate an audible and/or visual signal.
If there are both audible and visual signals, it is permissible for the audible
signal to be cancelled, but the visual alarm shall continue as long as the
fault persists.
Note  It is recommended that a first fault be eliminated with the shortest
practicable delay.

The operator panel MB6001ST signals the fault, if the insulation level
of the system falls below 23 k/

The signal LED “Earth Fault“ (red) lights up.
The red light “Centralised Alarm“ will light up at the master switch of
the “low cost“ model.
As a choice, it is possible to automatically switch-off the system within
1 second (DIN VDE 0100-551 (VDE 0100 Part 551).
Two operating modes may be selected with the Jumper J1:

1.

Indication at earth fault

2.

Indication and disconnection at earth fault (default setting).

Jumper = S

Jumper = M

Indication and

disconnection at earth
