Prevent sharp objects from coming into contact with the
panel.
Do not charge an automotive battery directly. This may
damage the battery.
6.
Warranty
The panel is covered by a MobiSolar Corp. limited warranty
for the original purchaser for 24 months from the date of
purchase.
Electrical performance is warranted to stay above 80% of
peak power output for 5 years.
The warranty covers defects in workmanship and materials,
excluding damage from normal wear and tear, alterations,
misuse, neglect, accidents or service by anyone other than
MobiSolar Corp.
The warranty does not cover solar panels that have been
deteriorated, damaged or destroyed by use not in accordance
with their intended purpose and in particular contrary to the
operating instructions; due to improper maintenance; due to
modifications by the customer or third parties or any other
intervention of an inappropriate nature.
During the warranty period and upon verification of defects
and proof of purchase, we will send you a replacement panel.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between USB outputs and DC output?
USB outputs provide regulated voltage, in compliance with
USB industry standards. The DC outputs provide unregulated
voltage, directly as generated from the panel.
Can I connect more than one panel to a system?
You can connect several panels of the same model in series,
so long as the maximum system voltage is less than 100V.
What is half-cut cell technology?
Half-cut technology uses monocrystalline silicon cells that are
cut in half. This reduces internal cell resistance, resulting in
more energy being produced. The smaller cell size of half-cut
panels also reduces mechanical stresses on the panel,
thereby reducing the chance of solar cell micro cracking.
How is panel performance tested?
All solar panels are tested and rated under industry standard
STCs (Standard Testing Conditions). The Standard Test
Conditions are – solar cells temperature at 25C;
solar
irradiance of 1,000W/m
2
; and Air Mass (AM) of 1.5. AM refers
to the amount of light that has to pass through the
atmosphere before it can hit the Earth’s surface and has to do
mostly with the angle of the sun relative to a reference point
on the earth. AM is minimized when the sun is directly above
since light must travel a minimum distance straight down and
increases as the sun goes farther from the reference point
and hits the same spot at an angle. AM of 1.5 means a solar
zenith angle of 48.19°.
Can I use the panel to charge my RV/boat batteries or my
12V cooler?
You can use the panel to charge your batteries or cooler, but
you must connect a charge controller between the panel and
the batteries.
Why can I not charge a battery directly?
While connecting the solar panel to a battery may work in an
emergency situation (e.g. to charge a dead car battery), it is
not safe for the battery. The difference between the voltage
required to charge the battery and the voltage generated by
the solar panel, may result in overcharging the battery,
altering the battery chemistry, and damaging the battery.
What charge controller should I use?
The vast majority of charge controllers should work with this
panel, so long as the controller’s rated current is higher than
the maximum power current output of the panel.
Can the solar panel charge when partly shaded or through a
window?
The panel’s performance is severely degraded when it is
partly shaded or when it is used behind a window or a
windshield. When using the panel avoid shading as much as
possible.
What is ETFE coating?
Most flexible and foldable solar panels are laminated with
PET (polyethylene terephthalate) or TPT (Tedlar Polyester
Tedlar) materials. ETFE is a new technology used in solar
panels. It is a fluoropolymer or a polymer containing a
fluorine atom. It can withstand high levels of thermal stress
and has total UV permeability. Due to its molecular chemistry,
ETFE is a self-cleaning material. Compared with PET/TPT, ETFE
is much stronger and more durable, resistant to heat and salt
water corrosion, is flame retardant, has better transparency,
has a longer lifetime (10 years, compared to a maximum of 5
years for PET/TPT), and does not reflect light.
Can I use all the outputs at the same time?
Yes, you can. The total generated power by the panel will be
distributed among the ports.
Can I leave the solar panel outside when it is raining?
Do not leave the panel outdoors when raining. The panel has
an IPX4 rating. Water can ingress the panel via the power
outputs that are not waterproof.
