Mx2wire can also be used to extend the range of an Ethernet connection that would
otherwise be limited to just 100 m in length (between the PoE switch and end device).
For
this purpose, a cat7 installation cable is converted to a two-wire cable as follows: Open
the four twisted wire pairs and remove approx. 7 mm of insulation from the ends. Then
connect the four white wires together to one cable and the four colored wires together
to another cable and attach wire-end sleeves
. In conjunction with Mx2wire, PoE class
2 power can be transmitted over a distance of 500 m at a data rate of approx. 10 Mbps.
