About the operation of your freezer.

Starting the Freezer

Clean the inside of the freezer with a mild solution of baking soda and water (see Care and Cleaning).
Connect cord to power outlet.
Make sure the temperature control is set at

mid point

.

Allow freezer to operate for at least four hours before placing food inside.
Your freezer has one control for regulating temperature. The control is located in the lower right

hand corner.

Temperature Control

Freezing temperature selection is made by

setting the control from

MIN

to

MAX

(coldest).
If you want colder or warmer

temperatures, adjust the control one step

at a time.

Allow several hours after each one-step

adjustment for the freezer temperature to

stabilize.
Turning the control to the

OFF

position

stops the cooling process but does not

shut off power to the freezer.

Power-On Light

(on some models)

The green Power-On Light indicates that

the freezer is properly connected to the

electrical power.

The light glows even when the

temperature control is turned off.

Key-Ejecting Lock

(on some models)

The key for the spring-loaded lock is

automatically ejected—key will not remain

in lock in either the open or closed

position.

Keep the key out of reach of children and

away from the freezer.

Helpful Hints

Large amounts of frozen food will help

the cooling efficiency of the freezer.

If the unit is unplugged, lost power

or turned off, you should wait at least

5 minutes before restarting the unit.

When loading the freezer, freeze only

3 lbs (1.4 kg) of fresh food per cubic feet

of freezer space at one time.

Distribute packages evenly throughout

the freezer.

Place frozen food into the freezer as

quickly as possible after purchase.

Fast Freeze Switch

(on some models)

The yellow switch overrides the thermostat

and will make the compressor operate

continuously, lowering the cabinet

temperature further than the thermostat

setting.

The yellow light glows when in the

ON

position.
