Selecting the Destination Stackers
To select the destination stackers:
1. In the Destination Stackers window, click the rectangle that represents the stacker to use
for the routine.
The stacker rectangle changes from yellow to red.
Note: If the stacker you want to use cannot be selected, then it is not compatible
with the destination plate type selected in the Destination Options window. See
Setting Destination Plate Options on page 162
2. Click Next to define the picking head and the Sanitise profile. See
Sanitizing Options on page 163

Selecting the Head and Sanitizing Options
To select the head and sanitize options:
1. In the Head and Sanitise window, from the Picking Head list, select the head to use for the
control plate creation routine.
2. In the Destination field, enter the distance in millimeters above the bottom of the
destination plate wells to dip the pins for the inoculation.
3. From the Sanitise Profile list, select the Sanitise profile to use for the picking routine.
If the available profiles are not suitable for the control plate creation routine, exit the control
plate creation process and create a new Sanitise profile. See

4. Click Next to define options for the source receptacle.
Setting Source Receptacle Options
To set source and receptacle options:
1. In the Source window, from the Holder list, select the type of holder used to hold the source
receptacles on the instrument deck.
2. From the Receptacle list, select the type of receptacle used for the source. Only the
receptacles applicable for the holder display in this list.
The preview image displays a representation of the holder and receptacle.
3. In the Positions field, enter the number of receptacles to use for picking.
4. In the Offset field, enter the position of the first receptacle to use for picking.
The preview image displays the defined locations of the receptacles.
5. In the Picking Depth Into Agar (mm) field, enter a value in millimeters to define the depth
that the pins are to be inserted in the agar for picking.
6. Click Next to define the layout of the control wells on the plate.
