Diode testing
Set the rotary switch to the position
. When
placing the test tips at the diode in forward direction,
the diode forward voltage is directly displayed in the
4 V range. Here the positive pole of the test voltage
is at the red measuring cable.
With open diode or polarity in reverse direction,
the open circuit voltage of approx. 3 V used with this
measurement is displayed. In case of diode short-
circuit 0 V is displayed.
Frequency measurement
Set the rotary switch to the Hz position, in 5 ranges,
with auto range mode only, the frequency of an AC
voltage up to 500 kHz can be displayed. The input
voltage necessary for this is 2.5 to 3.5 V peak AC
voltage.
The multimeter is protected up to 250 DC / peak
AC voltage.
Capacitance measurement
Set the rotary switch to position
. In the auto
range mode or manual range selection capacitors
from approx. 4 nF up to 40 µF can be measured.
The capacitors to be measured must be dis-
charged.
For values below 40 nF also the relative measure-
ment is recommended. (See below).
The multimeter is protected up to 250 V DC / peak
AC voltage.
The special function
of relative measurement
Display of a measuring value deviating from a
measuring value which has been fixed before.
Example: 10 V have been measured and fixed as a
reference. A following measurement of 11 V is now
displayed as 1 V, i. e. +1 V higher then the reference
