5.7 Power supply
For the models IOR-204, IOR-208 and NWR-801POE, connect
the power supply unit to the jack “48 V
⎓
” (15) and to a mains
socket (230 V/ 50 Hz).
For the models NWR-1608POE, NWR-3216POE and NWR-
6400, use the mains cable provided to connect the mains jack
(18) to a mains socket (230 V/ 50 Hz).
5.7.1 Inserting / Replacing batteries
of the remote control
To insert the batteries (2 × 1.5 V, size AAA), remove the battery
compartment cover on the rear of the remote control. Insert
the batteries as indicated in the compartment and then close
the cover.
If the remote control is not used for a longer time, remove
the batteries as a precaution so that the remote control will
not be damaged in case the batteries should leak.
Never put batteries in the household waste. Always
dispose of the batteries in accordance with local reg-
ulations.
6 Setting the Recorder into Operation
When the

have been connected, switch on the recorder with the rocker
switch (14) on the rear. After a few seconds, the MONACOR
logo will appear on the monitor connected:
6.1 Defining the language, the device ID and
the password during first-time operation
When the unit is used for the first time, a logon menu will
appear where you can define the menu language, the device
ID and a password:

1) To change the menu language, click the arrow

in the
upper field highlighted by a blue frame. A pop-up menu
will appear; set the menu language desired.
2) In the line “Device ID”, an identification number can be
entered.
3) In the line “New Admin Name”, the predefined adminis-
trator name is shown. To change the name, click the field
highlighted by a blue frame. A window with a keyboard will
appear where the name desired can be entered. To delete
characters, click
. To confirm the name entered, click

the window with the keyboard will be closed.
4) In the line “New Admin Password”, enter a password with
a length of at least 6 characters. Re-enter the password
in the line “Confirm Password”. In the line “Password
Strength”, the security level of the password entered is
shown. Observe the data security notes in the following
chapter 6.1.1.
5) The recorder cannot only be unlocked by means of the
password (the unit will be locked 1 minute after a menu
has been exited), but also by means of a pattern drawn
with the mouse.
a) To define a pattern, go to the line “Unlock Pattern
Enable” and select “Enable”. A “Draw” icon will appear
to the right; click the icon to open the window “Set
Unlock Pattern”.

b) Keep the left mouse button pressed and draw a pat-
tern, using at least four of the nine nodes available (see
example in the figure to the right).
c) The message “Draw pattern again to confirm” will ap-
pear. Draw the pattern again.
6) Click “Apply” to save the settings. Then the setup wizard
will appear (chapter 6.3).
6.1.1 Important data security notes
As soon as the recorder is connected to the Internet, anybody
who knows your device ID and your password will be able to
access, modify and misuse the recorder (for criminal offences)
without you taking note of it.
IMPORTANT
Use a password with a high security level.
Make sure to remember your password and
disclose your password only to authorized
persons.
If you want to dispose of the recorder or plan to give (e. g.
sell or lend) it to a third party, make sure to delete all record-
ings and passwords: Format the hard disk (chapter 7.9) and
reset the recorder to its factory settings (chapter 6.6.11).
Otherwise, you will pass on your recordings, personal data
and passwords with the recorder.
