Safety Devices
DeSauws are equipped with many forms of safety devices to protect not only the
user but also to protect the saw itself from accidental damage. There are two
forms of protection devices on the FWA-500, one is automatic controlled and the
other is a manual input device controlled by the user.

Motor Drives
technician for assistance.
DO NOT
attempt to change parameters in drive without
consulting a qualified technician.
Motor Starter Overloads
A contacting motor starter controls any motor that is not controlled
by a variable frequency motor drive. The contacting motor starter is
protected from over current and voltage spikes by an overload
located below the starter contact. If the overload is “tripped”, then
pushing a reset button can reset the starter. When the overload
controls a 5 or 10 horsepower blade motor, the starter can be reset by
pushing the red button in the lower/middle section of the overload.
Any other starter can be reset by
pushing the round blue button on
the bottom right side of the overload.
DO NOT
turn the reset button when it
is pushed, and make sure the button
returns to its full outward position.
10
These drives have the capability of protecting themselves
from voltage spikes and over-torque detection. Shutting off
the power for approximately 10 seconds can reset the drive.
If the problem recurs after restoring power, the user should
go to the faulting drive in the main electrical panel and read
the fault code displayed on the drive (if drive is OK the
display should read “Rdy”). When fault code is determined,
user should contact Monet DeSauw
WARNING
!
ACCESS TO MAIN ELECTRICAL PANELS
SHOULD BE LIMITED ONLY TO QUALIFIED
PERSONNEL. THE VOLTAGE WITHIN SHOULD
BE CONSIDERED LETHAL AND CAN CAUSE
SERIOUS DAMAGE.
