Installation Instructions - Custom Overlay Door Panel
STEP 1 OVERLAY PANEL PREP
Ŷ
Verify overall panel dimensions match supplied
recommendations based on model and inspect for any
initial damage.
Ŷ
Lay the template on the BACK of the panel, making
sure to align the top edge (black line) of the template
to the top edge of the panel. The template side
edges should be aligned with the handle side of the
panel. Secure the template to the panel so it does not
move when marking hole locations. Masking tape is
recommended to secure the template and ensure it is
not wrinkled and is smooth against the panel.

Mark the hole locations by tapping lightly in the center
of the hole markings with a center punch to transfer
the markings to the panel. It is critical the template not
move from start to finish of marking hole locations on
the panel.

Drill pilot holes with a 5/64” (drill bit making sure to drill
no deeper than 1/2” deep.
Ŷ
Install top and bottom mounting brackets provided with
No. 6 Phillips Head Screws. Use 12 screws for 18, 24
and 30” models. Use 18 screws for 36” models. Make
sure cutout end of bracket is on hinge side per figure
below. Also ensure flanges on brackets are facing
toward the other bracket as shown. Screws should
be secure and flush to brackets. Do not overtighten
screws.

Install center mounting brackets with 2 #6 Phillips head
screws.

Install the top center mounting bracket and secure with
2 #6 Philips screw.
Ŷ
Remove the L-shaped bracket and
set it aside. This will be replaced after
the installation of the wooden panel to
the door assembly.
Ŷ
Install the handle (if applicable) being
sure all hardware mounts below the
back surface of the panel.
