   6. Motor protection

Caution: 

The unit is designed for short-term use of a maximum of    

 

 

one minute. After this, please let the motor cool down for approximately 30 minutes.

In the event of overloading, the motor will shut down automatically. Remove the plug 
from the socket and ensure that the slide switch is set to OFF. Let the engine cool for about 
30 minutes at room temperature before plugging the power cord back into the socket. 
Continue operation.
Please avoid overloading the motor by inserting more paper than indicated, for example. 
This can lead to other defects, such as on the inner rollers.

7. Using the machine

-  Remove the unit from the packaging carefully.
-  If necessary, pull out the fixing rails

 and place the machine on the round waste    

  basket chosen by you (suitable for diameters from 27.5 to 37.5 cm).
-  Make sure that the paper shredder sits properly on the waste basket.
-  Now connect insert the device‘s plug

into a power socket.

-  Set the slide switch

to AUTO. The

 READY/ON

 light

 will shine green and the device  

  is ready.
-  Feed the paper through the slot

 into the cutting mechanism.

  Make sure that you insert the paper straight and centred. Prior to insertion remove all  
  metal parts (staples, paper clips etc.) from the paper. In the middle of the feed-in slot  
  is a sensor

, that is activated as soon as you introduce paper. Therefore please always  

  feed in smaller paper sizes in the middle. If the slide switch is set to 

AUTO

, the unit will  

  turn off automatically as soon as the paper is processed.
-  When you no longer need the device, set the slide switch to 

OFF

. The 

READY/ON

 light 

  is on. Be sure to empty the waste basket regularly.
