2. Recommended spine width

1.   The MT 88 thermal binder has a maximum binding capacity of 200 sheets.
2.  The general guideline for selecting the thermal binding cover is as follows:

1  Put the machine on a flat table, then draw out the plastic panel on the back cover of  
  the machine.
2  Plug the machine in a standard socket, then turn on the ON/OFF switch

  The red POWER light 



 will light up, the FINISHED light 



 will turn yellow, the machine  

  will then start to heat up.
3  After approximately 2 minutes, the green READY light

 comes on and the FINISHED 

  light 



 will change from yellow to green, then it will give a short beep (not long beep),  

  the machine can now be used.
4  Put the paper into the file, ensuring the edge of the paper is close to the heating glue.
5  Move the retaining bracket

6  Put the file (spine side) into the binding slot

 Fig. 2 and let the plate clamp the file tightly. 

7  Push the PUSH button 



, the FINISHED light 



 will change to yellow and then about 50 

 

  seconds later, all the glue will melt in the file. The FINISHED light 



 will then change  

 

  to green, the binding will be finished with a short beep.
8  Pull the file out of the machine, and put it on the plastic panel 

’

 for cooling Fig. 3 and 4. 

9  Press the Push 



 button to proceed with the next binding operation. If the object is not  

 

  bound well, please repeat the above procedure.

manufacturing faults during private use within 36 months of the date of purchase we shall be liable for  
warranty in accordance with statutory warranty regulations provided that:
- the device was not put to any use other than the intended 
- was not overloaded 
- was not used with the wrong accessories 
- repairs were not carried out by any other than the authorized workshop
The warranty certificate is only valid in connection with the receipt. Please keep both in a safe place.  
This warranty does not affect your statutory rights.
This purchase is guaranteed for a period of three years beginning on the day of purchase. Keep your purchase 
receipt safe as proof of date of purchase. The guarantee can only be extended for the duration of any repair 
required.
During the warranty period if the product becomes defective, in the first instance, please call our service hot-
line. We will, at our discretion, either repair or exchange the device in accordance with warranty legislation.
If you are required to return the item please enclose the following:
1.   Receipt (proof or purchase) 
2.  This warranty certificate with the fault report form overleaf complete with your name, contact details and  
 

fault description.

If the original receipt is not enclosed the repair will be charged in all cases. After the warranty has expired you 
can still send defective devices for repairs period to the address stated below. Quotes as well as repairs after 
the warranty period are to be paid for in all cases.
Ensure that the product is sent well packed as no responsibility can be accepted for items lost or damaged in 
transit.
This warranty does not affect your statutory rights.

When using this electrical machine, basic precautions should always be followed to reduce the 
risk of electric shock and injury to persons, including the following:

1  Read carefully the instruction on” HOW TO USE”.
2  Whilst using the machine, please do not put any items on the upper cover. 
  Please do not touch any heating areas, with your hand or any objects as there is 
  a danger of burning or fire.
4  Always unplug the machine when not in use or before cleaning.
5  Please only plug in sole socket for safety.
6  Keep away from children and pets  whilst in operation.
7  To protect against risk of electrical hazards, do not immerse cord, plug, or machine in water  
  or other liquid.
8  Do not operate the machine with a damaged cord or plug, or after the machine  
  malfunctions, has been dropped or is damaged in any manner. Return machine to the  
  nearest authorised service centre   for examination, repair or adjustment.
9  Do not use accessory attachment not recommended or sold by the machine manufacturer.
10 Do not let the cord hang over edge of counter, or touch hot surface.
11 The socket-outlet shall be installed near the equipment and shall be easily accessible.

The best way to store the machine when not in use is in the original packaging. Keep 

the machine in a dry location away from sources of heat.

6. Disposal

The product packaging is recyclable and should be disposed of with due regard for the 

environment. When no longer serviceable, the machine should not be thrown away 

with the household rubbish, but should be disposed of in line with legal requirements. 

This is in the interests of recycling and protecting the environment. Discuss the options 

with your local authority. Before disposal ensure that the machine is rendered unusable.

Disconnect the machine from the power supply and remove the mains cable.
