Battery Disposal & Caution
The product that you have purchased contains a rechargeable battery. The
battery is recyclable. At the end of its useful life, under various state and
local laws, it may be illegal to dispose of this battery into the municipal waste
stream. Check with your local solid waste officials for details in your area for
recycling options or proper disposal.
Danger of explosion if battery is incorrectly replaced. Replace only with the
same or equivalent type recommended by the manufacturer. Discard used
battery according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
Adapter Notes
This computer is designed to be powered by the 2 AC/DC adapters supplied. When the
computer is powered by the dual adapters the system will be in its highest performance
mode.
If the system is being powered by a single adapter,
note the following:
•
When the battery level is less than 10%, the system will not start if powered by one
Adapter only.
•
If a battery is not installed, the system will not start.
•
The overall system performance will be equivalent to the system in DC (battery powered)
mode.
•
Although powered by a single adapter the battery will not charge.
•
As the adapter is powered separately, the battery will not be charged, and the operating
system will show the capacity unchanged.
•
When the battery is low, and the low battery beep sound is being played, the system will
continue to do so and will not enter a power-saving state.
System Startup
1.
Remove all packing materials.
2.
Place the computer on a stable surface.
3.
Insert the battery and make sure it is locked in position.
4.
The AC/DC adapters can be stored in the stand supplied, but can only be orientated one
way as indicated in picture. Insert the adapters with the open end for the power cord
facing the 280W logo. Do not use a single AC/DC adapter to power the system.
5.
When first setting up the computer use the following procedure
(as to
safeguard the computer during shipping, the battery will be locked to not power the
system until first connected to the AC/DC adapter and initially set up as below):
•
Attach the AC/DC adapter cords to the DC-In jacks on the rear of the computer then plug
the AC power cords into an outlet, and connect the AC power cords to the AC/DC adapters
and the battery will now be unlocked.
