SEQUENCER
(Continued)
REST
(ON/LIT, OFF/UNLIT)
Pressing the
REST
button toggles a musical rest on or off for the current
sequence step. If there is a rest assigned to the current step, then any
notes entered on that step will not play.
NOTE
: As the sequence plays, the
REST
button will light to indicate that
the current step has been designated as a rest.
TIE
(ON/LIT, OFF/UNLIT)
Pressing the
TIE
button adds a musical tie to the current step
highlighted in the Step Edit screen, connecting the notes in this step
into the next, without re-triggering the envelopes at the beginning of
the next step.
NOTE
: As the sequence plays, the
TIE
button will light to indicate that the
current step has been entered as tied to the next step.
STEP MOD
(ON/LIT, OFF/UNLIT)
Nearly any Synth parameter can be given a different value for the
current step in the Step Edit page. But to quickly record value changes
as you sweep a parameter - storing a new value at each step as the
Sequencer is running - press the
STEP MOD
button to turn it On
(lit), and then tweak a knob, entering a new value (offset) for each
step. As long as the
STEP MOD
button is lit, you can continue to
enter modulation values for multiple parameters just by rotating the
corresponding knob. Finally, turn the Step Mod function Off by pressing
the
STEP MOD
button a second time. Once entered, this data can be
accessed and edited using the Step Edit feature.
NOTE
: The Sequencer does not need to be placed in the Record mode to use the Step Mod feature.
TRANSPOSE
(ON/LIT, OFF/UNLIT)
The playback of the sequence can be transposed to begin on a new key;
all notes in the sequence will be transposed by that same amount. For
example, if the sequence is of a C Major scale, transposing up a fourth
(five keys) will produce an F Major scale. Press the
TRANSPOSE
button
to turn the Transpose feature On (the button is lit), and play a new
note on the keyboard to transpose the sequence; the sequence can be
continually transposed by playing new notes on the keyboard. Press the
TRANSPOSE
button a second time to turn the Transpose feature Off
(the button goes dark).
NOTE
: When the
TRANSPOSE
button is lit (Transpose feature On), notes played on the keyboard will
not sound the active synth. Instead, the keys are used only to enter a Transpose amount.
