SEQUENCER
(Continued)
LENGTH
(1 to 64)
By changing the Length, the sequence can be set to contain any number of steps, from 1 to 64.
Combined with the CLOCK TIMING parameter, it is possible to generate sequences of differing
lengths, feels, and time signatures.
FOLLOW SWING
(OFF, ON)
The Master Clock includes parameters related to adding swing to the beat. When Sync’d to the Master Clock,
the Sequencer can either follow this swing information, or ignore it and play strictly to the BPM setting.
NOTE RESET
(OFF, ON)
This parameter specifies how the timing of the Sequencer will behave when a new note is played on
the keyboard, if the
NOTE TRIG
button in the Sequencer module is also On (lit). When this NOTE
RESET parameter is On, the Sequencer begins instantly, resetting the downbeat timing of the current
Clock Division to match the note as it is played. When Note Reset is Off, the Sequencer will wait for the
start of the next specified Clock Division before the pattern begins.
RESTART ON HOLD
(OFF, ON)
This parameter specifies how the timing of the Sequencer will behave when the
HOLD
button on the
Front Panel is On (lit) and the
NOTE TRIG
button in the Sequencer module is also On (lit). When this
RESTART ON HOLD parameter is On, playing any new note – with no other no other notes held down –
will reset the sequence to begin playing from the first step. When this RESTART ON HOLD parameter
is Off, playing any new note will not restart the sequence.
NOTE
: If the RESTART ON HOLD parameter is off, and the
HOLD
,
NOTE
TRIG
, and
TRANSPOSE
buttons from the Sequencer module area all set to On, then playing a new note while a previous note is
still held will transpose the sequence without resetting back to step one.
RESTART ON TRIG
(OFF, ON)
This RESTART ON TRIG (Restart On Note Trigger) parameter specifies how the timing of the
Sequencer will behave when the
NOTE TRIG
button in the Sequencer module on the Front Panel is
On (lit). When this Restart On Note Trigger parameter is set to On, then using the Note Trigger feature
to initiate the sequence playback will always reset the sequence to restart at step one. When this
Restart On Note Trigger parameter is set to Off, using the Note Trigger feature to initiate the sequence
playback will resume the playback of the sequence from the active step.
TRANSPOSE MODE
(START KEY, INTERVAL)
When the
TRANSPOSE
button in the Sequencer module on the Front Panel is set to On (lit), the playback
of the sequence can be transposed. There are two methods for determining the transpose amount.
START KEY
Using the Start Key method, any key can be chosen to serve as the starting note of the
sequence, and the remaining notes will also be transposed by the same amount to preserve
their correct intervals in relation to the new Start Key.
INTERVAL
The Interval method uses Middle C on the keyboard as a reference point, and allows the
sequence to be transposed by a specific interval, regardless of the original key. In this way,
playing F above Middle C would transpose the sequence up a fourth. Even if the original key
and starting note was not C, the transposition would still be equal to a fourth, so E would
become A, etc.
