Service and Maintenance (cont.)
ENSURE THAT THE GAS SUPPLY TO THE APPLIANCE HAS BEEN TURNED OFF BEFORE REMOVING OR
DISMANTLING ANY GAS CONTROLS.
1)
To Remove or service a Thermostat/FFD.
Remove all black control knobs by gently pulling off spindle.
Remove the two screws fixing the control panel.
Remove the thermostat from the gas rail by unscrewing the supply tube union connection, the
thermocouple connection, pilot feed pipe connection and unscrew the two screw in the clamping
bracket below the thermostat.
Lift griddle plate to reveal under side of plate, unscrew retaining bolts from thermostat phial
clamp plate to enable phial to be removed. Reverse the above procedure to replace thermostat.
2)
To Calibrate a New Thermostat
Adjust the grub screw in the thermostat bail arm to give a temperature of 240ºC on the Griddle
plate immediately above the thermostat probe, (with thermostat set to maximum). It may be
necessary to adjust the bypass screw to give a rate that will allow the thermostat to maintain a
temperature of approx. 190ºC when thermostat control knob is in this position.
3)
To Remove Thermocouple.
To gain access to the thermocouple, remove the control panel as described previously.
Disconnect from pilot bracket (taking note of position).
Unscrew thermocouple from the rear of the thermostat.
When re-fitting the thermocouple, ensure that the sensing tip is positioned correctly with the tip
inside the flame pattern.
Tighten the connection to the Thermostat/FFD finger tight and then add a further ¼ turn using a
spanner,
DO NOT OVER-TIGHTEN
- this can break the seal and continuity
4)
To Remove a Burner
Lift off griddle plate and splashback surround
Remove lock nut holding burner injector in place.
Slide burner back over injector and lift up, unhooking burner out of slot in rear of burner
compartment.
