CONNECTING & DISCONNECTING THE GAS CYLINDER
Connecting & disconnecting LP gas supply
1. Always verify that all burner control buttons are set at OFF, prior to connecting the gas supply
2. Prior to connection, you must ensure that the gas-cylinder and regulation-valve heads, the burn-
er head, or burner ports are free of any grime.
3. Always connect the gas-supply regulators as follows: Insert the valve coupling’s tubular nipple
into the gas cylinder’s valve and tighten the connection sleeve by turning clockwise with one
hand, while holding the regulator with the other.
4. Disconnect the connection between the propane gas cylinder and the regulator valve when the
grill is not being used.
5. Always ensure that all the burner-control buttons are set at OFF before disconnecting the gas supply.
6. Before disconnecting the gas supply, you must ensure that the cylinder’s valve is set at OFF.
7. Always disconnect the gas-supply regulators as follows: Unfasten the connection sleeve by turning
it anti-clockwise with one hand, while holding the regulator with the other, then remove the tubu-
lar nipple from the cylinder’s valve. Do not block the grill’s combustion and ventilation current.
Keep the cylinder chamber’s ventilation openings free and remove possible grime.
8. Put the dust cap on the cylinder valve when the cylinder is not in use. Never use dust caps other
than the type supplied together with the cylinder valve. The use of other dust caps or stoppers
may lead to propane gas seepage.
9. Shut off the cylinder’s gas supply after use.
10. Gas cylinder: An ordinary cylinder for camping gas with a filling weight of 3.5 or 11 kg (e.g. grey
gas cylinders for camping). These can be purchased from DIY markets or cylinder-gas suppliers.
11. Pressure regulator: Predetermined and CE-approved pressure regulator, max. 1.5 kg/p with an
operational pressure that matches the gas cylinder applied. This pressure-control valve can like-
wise be purchased from your local dealer.
12. Gas tube: CE-approved tube of a suitable length that allows fitting without kinks. Should not be
longer than 1.5 m.
DANGER
To prevent the risk of fire or explosion when testing for leakage:
13. Always perform the leakage test, described on page 28, before lighting the grill and every time
the gas cylinder is connected before use.
14. Smoking and the presence of other sources of ignition are not allowed during the performance
of the leakage test.
15. The leakage test is performed outdoors in an efficiently ventilated area.
16. Never use matches, lighters, or open flame for the performance of a leakage test.
17. Do not use the grill until all leakages have been eliminated. If a leakage cannot be eliminated,
disconnect the gas supply, and call a gas service firm or your local supplier of propane gas.
