Operation
Preparation
Keep the packaging material for safe storage or
transport later.
f
Check that the contents are complete.
f
Check all the parts for possible transport damage.
Safety
Handle with care! Damage due to incorrect
power supply.
f
Only operate the appliance with an alternating
current and with the voltage stated on the
nameplate.
Mains operation
1. Connect to the mains power supply (Fig. 2)
2. Switch on the appliance using the on/off switch and
switch off after use (Fig. 3).
The appliance has two speed settings. These can
be selected via the on/off switch.
Setting I = slow speed
Setting II = high speed
Operation
Cutting with the attachment comb
The appliance can also be operated with attachment
combs. Attachment combs can be used to extend the cut-
ting length range.
Accessories are available from your dealer.
Attaching/removing the attachment comb
1. Fit the attachment comb onto the bottom edge of the
blade set (Fig. 4
ⓐ
) and push it over the cutting edge of
the bottom blade until it locks (Fig. 4
ⓑ
).
2. Push the attachment comb towards the cutting edge
of the bottom blade (Fig. 5) and remove it from the
blade set.
Changing the blade set
Warning! Injuries and material damage due to
incorrect handling.

Switch the appliance off and disconnect from
the power supply before changing the blade
set.
1. Switch the appliance off using the on/off switch (Fig. 3)
and disconnect from the power supply.
2. Press the release button (B) (Fig. 6
ⓐ
) towards the
blade set and lift the blade set out of the housing
(Fig. 6
ⓑ
).
3. Remove the blade set from the clip (Fig. 6
ⓒ
).
4. Attach the new blade set onto the clip (Fig. 8
ⓐ
).
Ensure that the clip is folded out. If this is not the
case, you can fold out the clip with a flat bladed
screwdriver (Fig.7).
5. Connect to the mains power supply (Fig. 2)
6. Switch on the appliance (Fig. 3).
7. Lift the blade set up while the appliance is running.
8. Press the blade set on until you hear it snap into place
(Fig. 8
ⓑ
).
9. Switch off the appliance (Fig. 3).
Maintenance
Cleaning and care
Danger! Electric shock due to penetration of
liquid.

Switch the appliance off and disconnect
from the power supply before you start with
cleaning and care.
f
Do not immerse the appliance in water!
f
Do not allow any liquid to get inside the
appliance.
f
Only reconnect the appliance to the power
supply if it is completely dry.
Handle with care! Danger from aggressive
chemicals.
Aggressive chemicals could damage the appli-
ance and accessories.
f
Never use solvents or scouring agents.
f
Only use cleaning agents and blade set oil
recommended by the manufacturer.
Hygienic spray, blade set oil, and Blade Ice spray
are available from your dealer or our service
centre.
Hygienic spray:

Blade set oil (200 ml): Order no. 1854-7935
Blade Ice spray:

Remove the attachment comb (Fig. 5) after every use
and lift the blade set out of the housing (Fig. 6). Use
the cleaning brush to remove any cut hairs from the
housing opening and from the blade set (Fig. 9).
Handle with care! Injuries due to incorrect
handling.

The blade set must not be unscrewed.
f
The top blade must not be pushed out
completely!
f
Push the top blade to the side (Fig. 9
ⓐ
) and remove
cut hairs from the top and bottom blade using the
cleaning brush. After cleaning, return the top blade to
its initial position (Fig. 9
ⓑ
). The top blade should be
aligned at the centre of the bottom blade.
