Customizing Your Handset
• Power Up
— sets the main menu item you see
when you power on your handset. To set the idle
screen to be the first thing you see when you
power on your handset, select
Default Ready
.
Volume Features
The Volume menu sets the volume of sounds your
handset makes:
• Line 1
— sets ringer volume for phone line 1.
• Line 2
— sets ringer volume for phone line 2.
• Messages
— sets the volume of message
notifications and Datebook reminders.
• Earpiece
— sets the volume of sound coming
out of the earpiece.
• Speaker
— sets the volume of sound coming
out of the speaker.
• Keypad
— sets the volume of sound associated
with pressing keys and buttons.
• Java Earpiece
— sets the volume of sound
associated with Java applications coming out of
the earpiece.
• Java Speaker
—sets the volume of sound
associated with Java applications coming out of
the speaker.
• Data
— sets the volume of sounds that notify
you that you are receiving a circuit data call.
Voice Playback
The Voice Playback menu controls features that
use a simulated voice to guide you through
handset menus and through placing and receiving
calls.
Note:
Voice playback speaks only in English.
Changing the language that your handset
displays does not affect voice playback.
• Speak Text
— controls whether you hear a
simulated voice as you navigate through
handset menus and placing and receiving calls.
• Speak Caller
— controls whether you hear the
handset number or name that is assigned to the
handset number in Contacts when you receive
an incoming handset call.
• Voice
— selects the voice that sounds for
playback.
• Spkr Volume
— sets the volume of sound
coming out of the speaker for navigation
playback.
• Ear Volume
— sets the volume of sound
associated with navigation playback coming out
of the earpiece.
