SPIRIT M-SERIES 2-WAY RADIOS
Problem:
Limited talk range.
Solution:
Steel/concrete structures, heavy foliage, and use in buildings and in
vehicles will decrease range; check for clear line of sight to improve
transmission.
Wearing the radio close to the body, such as in a pocket or on a belt,
will decrease range. Change the location of the radio.
Radios are too far apart. Obstacles interfere with transmission. Talk
range is up to 5 miles in clear unobstructed conditions. (See
Section
5.2
for more information on talk range.)
5.1 Radio Care
• To clean the radio housing, wipe with a soft cloth dampened with water.
• Don’t use cleaners or solvents on the radio. They can harm the body and leak
inside, causing permanent damage.
• Battery contacts may be wiped with a dry, lint-free cloth.
5.2 Talk Range
These radios can communicate at distances of up to 5 miles. But range will
decrease as the surroundings become more obstructive. Buildings and vehicles as
well as trees and heavy foliage will limit range.
