Locate  j u m p e r   p i n s  17 and 18  o f  the jumper array  associated  w i t h   t h e   p o r t   t o
be modified  ( p a y   a t t e n t i o n   t o   t h a t   p o r t ' s   c o n f i g u r a t i o n ,   i . e . ,   " C o n n e c t   t o

Terminal"  o r  "Connect  t o  Modem").  C u t   t h e   t r a c e  (located  on  t h e   s o l d e r   s i d e ,

not  t h e  component  s i d e   o f  the board) between  p i n s   1 7   a n d   1 8   w i t h   a   s h a r p

instrument.  M a k e   s u r e   t h a t   t h e  jumper block on these  pins  on  t h e  component
side has been removed, and  t e s t   f o r   d i s c o n t i n u i t y  between these pins   w i t h   a n

ohmmeter.  R e c o n n e c t i o n   c a n  be made  a t  any time by  i n s t a l l i n g   a  jumper block
on  t h e  same  p i n s .
