System Configuration 3-55
•
Last Member Query Count
– the number of Group-Specific Quer y messages sent before the router
assumes that there are no members of the host group being queried on this inter face. The default last
member quer y count is 2.
•
Fast Leave
– Toggling this option to
On
enables a non-standard expedited leave mechanism. The querier
keeps track of which client is requesting which channel by IP address. When a leave message is received,
the querier can check its internal table to see if there are any more clients on this group. If there are none,
it immediately sends an IGMP leave message to the upstream querier. By default, Fast Leave is set to
Off
.
Press Escape twice to return to the System Configuration menu.
Logging
You can configure a UNIX-compatible (BSD syslog protocol - RFC 3164)
syslog
client to repor t a number of
subsets of the events entered in the Router’s WAN Event Histor y. See
“WAN Event History” on page 9-4
.
Select
Logging
from the System Configuration menu.
The Logging Configuration screen appears.
By default, all events are logged in the event histor y.
•
By toggling each event descriptor to either
Yes
or
No
, you can determine which ones are logged and which
are ignored.
•
You can enable or disable the syslog client dynamically. When enabled, it will repor t any appropriate and
previously unrepor ted events.
•
You can specify the syslog ser ver’s address either in dotted decimal format or as a DNS name up to 63
characters.
•
You can specify the UNIX syslog Facility to use by selecting the
Facility
pop-up.
