Instruction Sheet for Headset Adapter Cable NKN6498

Disassemble the adapter cable

using two shop rags and two gas-

type pliers. Attach the headset plug onto the adapter bayonet-type
socket so as to stabilize the adapter and protect the bayonet-type
connector from being deformed. Use a shop rag around the headset
plug and another shop rag around the housing (item no. 3) to pro-
tect the cable adapter components from the pliers jaws marks. Grasp
the headset plug with one plier and the housing with the other plier.
Unscrew the socket assembly (item nos. 7 and 8) from the housing
(item no. 3). The pc board assembly (item no. 6) is now accessible.

Reassemble the adapter cable

in the reverse order of disassembly. Make

sure that the pc board is seated into its mating groove in the adapter collar
(item no. 7) to ensure that the wires do not get twisted-up during reassembly.
And, make sure that the adapter cable is attached to the headset plug to pro-
tect the bayonet-type connector from being deformed.
