Local I/O Devices from the PCI Bus
It is possible to reset the local I/O devices (framers, T8105, and LED register) from
the PCI bus side in the two operating modes:
•
PowerQUICC II in reset (with SW1-2 in ON position and PSPAN_INT5
asserted)
•
PowerQUICC II in normal operating mode
Program a reset of the I/O devices as follows:
1. Configure interrupt INT4 as output
Note: Mailbox registers 5, 6, and 7 are used by the firmware. Using these
PowerSpan II registers will cause firmware malfunction. Therefore, do not use
the mailbox registers 5, 6 and 7.
2. Set up one of PowerSpan II’s mailbox registers (except mailbox registers
5, 6, and 7) to trigger PSPAN_INT4 for a minimum time of 5 msec
3. Program access to respective mailbox register
