4. Once the properties of the advanced hotspot have been defined, the file can be installed on the switch
and used to support the hotspot. The following parameters are required to upload the file:
a. Specify a source hotspot configuration file. The file used at startup automatically displays within the
File
parameter.
b. Refer to the
Using
drop-down menu to configure whether the hotspot file transfer is conducted using
FTP or TFTP.
c. Enter the
IP Address
of the server or system receiving the source hotspot configuration. Ensure that
the IP address is valid or risk jeopardizing the success of the file transfer.
d. Enter the
Port
on which the server is listening.
e. If using FTP, enter the
User ID
credentials required to transfer the configuration file from an FTP
server.
f. If using FTP, enter the
Password
required to send the configuration file from an FTP server.
g. Specify the appropriate
Path
name to the hotspot configuration on the local system disk or server.
NOTE:
Advanced hotspot configuration is not permissible using the switch Web UI. Refer
to the switch CLI or other advanced configuration options to define a hotspot with
advanced properties. However, the switch can still install and maintain directories
containing Web page content.
