Chapter 12 USB Interface
This chapter describes how to connect and configure the Symbol MSXX07 Series scanner with a USB host. The
MiniScan attaches directly to a USB host, or a powered USB hub, which powers it. No additional power supply is
required. See

for more information.
Throughout the programming bar code menus, asterisks (

Connecting a USB Interface
The scanner connects with USB hosts including:
•
Desktop PCs and Notebooks
•
Apple™ iMac, G4, iBooks (North America only)
•
IBM SurePOS terminals
•
Sun, IBM, and other network computers that support more than one keyboard.
The following operating systems support the scanner through USB:
•
Windows 98, 2000, ME, XP
•
MacOS 8.5 and above
•
IBM 4690 OS.
The scanner also interfaces with other USB hosts that support USB Human Interface Devices (HID). For more
