When should I change the oil?
The first oil change should be carried out after
50 operating hours, and then every 250 operating
hours.
Changing the oil:
1. The log ram must be in its starting position.
2. Place a container under the log splitter to catch the old
oil. The container should have a capacity of at least
4 litres.
3. Unscrew the dipstick. Do not drop or lose the oil seal
when removing the dipstick.
4. Now tip the machine to empty the oil into the con-
tainer.
5. Stand the log splitter on end, with the filler opening
at the top.
A second person will be required to up-end and hold
the log splitter.
6. Pour in the new hydraulic oil (3.2 litres) using a clean
funnel.
7. Clean the dipstick and the oil seal.
8. Check the oil seal and replace it if it is damaged in
any way.
9. Replace the dipstick and screw it firmly into place.
Caution! Do not tighten the screw too tightly, since this
may damage the oil seal or the thread in the cylinder co-
ver.
Dispose of the old oil properly (local oil disposal
point). The old oil must not be poured into the ground
or drainage system, or mixed with other waste.
Hydraulic oil
We recommend the hydraulic oil Mogul HM22, ISO VG
22 or hydraulic oils of similar viscosity.
Do not use any other types of oil. The use of any other
type of oil will adversely affect the operation of the
hydraulic cylinder.
Storage Conditions
Store the wood splitter in a dry area on a level floor. The
machine must be stored out of reach of unauthorised
persons, especially children.
Guarantee
The warranty period is 12 months for commercial use, 24
months for consumers starting from the day of purchase.
Please read and follow the attached guarantee certificate
and guarantee conditions.
Troubleshooting
Failure
Cause
Remedy
The wood log cannot be split
Incorrect position of the log.
Readjust the log to the correct
position.
The log dimensions exceed the
allowed limits or the wood is too
hard to be split by a machine of
this capacity.
Cut the log and adjust its dimensions.
The splitting wedge does not split.
Sharpen the splitting wedge, remove
burrs and perform fine sharpening as
needed.
Too cool oil.
Idle the machine to warm the oil.
Oil leakage.
Find the leakage and seal it.
Too low hydraulic pressure.
Put the log aside.
The piston rod jerks or vib-
rates
Air in the hydraulic distribution
system.
Check the oil level and top up as
necessary. If necessary, contact the
dealer. Loosen the bleed screw.
Oil leakage around the pis-
ton rod or on external com-
ponents
Oil leaks from the oil tank.
Check the bleed screw for tightness
before transporting the machine.
Worn sealing.
Replace the sealing.
Stuck split log
Too knotted a log.
Release the controls and let the
pusher fully retract.
