5. Connections
5.1 Power supply
The manufacturer recommends attaching MT-VisionAir X ETSO devices
to a power supply whose fuse is directly connected to the aircraft battery
and does not include any other substantial power loads.
Recommended:
Ground Clearance Switch
Hot Bus
Not recommended:
General Avionics Bus
Only under these conditions is the pilot able to perform his preflight work with
MT-VisionAir X ETSO without draining the battery.
For the aircraft side required fuses and power consumption:
Aircraft side required fuses Operating voltage 12 V -> min. 5 A, slow
Operating voltage 24 V -> min. 2 A, slow
Shielded wires are to be used for cabling and the shield must be connected
to aircraft ground to avoid interference of other avionics units.
NOTE
The power supply coming from the central connector is not
switched by the unit, i.e. a Fast Integral GPS connected to
the central connector draws 50 to 70 mA even when the unit
is switched off. If no master switch is used this can drain the
aircraft battery in a couple of weeks, therefore always connect
the unit with a master switch.
