8.1.1. Filter Bag Replacement
1. Switch Purge disconnect
to ‘OFF’ position.
2. Let system pressure equalize and drop to 0PSI for up to 30 seconds.
3. Remove wing nuts and gently place filter covers to the side of tank.
4. Slowly remove filters from baskets and place dirty bags into a bucket or hopper
to drain.
5. Wipe down area around filter basket, ring grooves, and O-ring so no chips
remain.
6. Carefully install replacement filter bags
•
For stock #1 (15
” depth) internal cone baskets, the bottom of the #2 size bag
must be pulled
“inside” to fit around cone properly. Refer to diagram below.
•
DO NOT STUFF BAG TO THE SIDE OF CONE. DAMAGE WILL OCCUR.
•
For alternate #2 (30
” depth) baskets, simply install the full bag neatly in basket.
•
For all bags, ensure that the steel/rubber seal on top of bag is seated properly
on the basket groove and that there are no chips/debris that will interfere with
seal.
7. Be sure O-rings are re-installed in outer groove and seat properly.
If there are any signs of damage or stretching, replace O-ring.
8. Replace filter covers and secure the wing nuts snug by hand.
With good clean O-rings seated properly, the filter lid should seal after
tightening wing nuts by hand, without the use of tools.
Filters may not evenly fill
– This is OK.
If there is a
significant
difference
in chip volume, check hoses for blockages
or call
MP SYSTEMS
for
more information.
