If using an automatic car wash, follow the
manufacturer’s instructions. The front and
rear windscreen wipers must be switched
off. Remove external accessories such
as a roofrack etc. If washing by hand
rince thoroughly the areas below the
wheel arches. Fully clean the door sills
and door folds inside the doors and
bonnet as well as the body work they
cover.
Have the door hinges of all the doors
greased by a garage. Do not clean the
engine bay with a steam or power washer.
Rinse the vehicle thoroughly and
dry with a chamois leather. Rinse the
chamois leather.
Always use cleaning products with a
pH value between 4 and 9.
Do not use cleaning products on very
hot surfaces.
Warning
Use different chamois leathers for the
painted surfaces and the glass surfaces :
residues of wax can distort visibility.
Do not remove tar stains with hard objects.
Use a spray for removal of tar from painted
surfaces.
Lighting extérieur
The lenses of the headlights and other
lights are made of plastic. Do not use
abrasive or corrosive products nor
scrapers and do not clean when dry.
Polishing and shining
Shine the vehicle regularly (until there
are no more drops of water).
Otherwise the paint will dry out.
Polishing is only needed when the paint is
marked by solid substances or has a mat
appearance and has lost its shine.
The autopolish product with silicon forms
immediately a protective layer, doing away
with the need to shine.
The parts of the car body made of
plastic should not be treated with
shining or polishing products.
Front windscreen and wipers
Clean with a soft cloth which is not fluffy or
a chamois leather with cleaning product for
glass and a product to remove insects.
When cleaning the rear window, do not
damage the heating wires located on the
interior. Use a scraper with sharp edges to
remove frost (ice) manually. Press the
scraper firmly to the glass, so that dirt
cannot pass underneath and scrape the
glass. Clean the wiper blades with a soft
cloth and a cleaning product for windows.
Wheels and tyres
Do not use power hoses. Clean the
wheels with a pH neutral wheel cleaner.
The wheels are painted and can be
cleaned with the same products as the
bodywork.
