Star Network Topology
Scope
In the Star Network topology (example shown in
), up to 8 channels can be created
across the network, which uses single-fiber cables. This means that up to 16 access-equipment
units (e.g., LANs, PCs, etc.) can be interconnected with this network topology – two per channel.
All channels run from the Branch Office (BO) LDx00s to the Central Office (CO) LDx00, i.e., no
channels exist between the BOs.
