3.9. Function Tests on the Instrument
Checking the Confidence indicator
The alarm LEDs and the Confidence indicator in the display must flash every
60 seconds after starting the instrument. This indicates the instrument is
operating correctly
Alarm Test
The alarm test must be conducted before each use.
It is part of the self-test.
(1) Turn ON the instrument.
A short alarm is triggered. These include:
temporary
display
indicators;
alarm LEDs flash;
acoustic signal sounds briefly and
vibration alarm is triggered briefly.
For the Steel Mill version only, the alarm test occurs every time the
button is pressed for one second.
Bump-Test
The bump-test (

Fig. 6) must be conducted before each use.
(1) Press the button for two seconds.
In the oxygen version, the set oxygen concentration is displayed.
Calibration (
Æ
Section 3.10) must be carried out if the value deviates
from 20.8%.
