Operation
Operating times
Please observe the times stipulated in local byelaws.
Check with your local authorities to determine if
there are any operating time limitations.
Before start-up:
Î
Check tool for damage.
Î
Check all parts for firm seating.
Î
Check the chain tension.
Î
Check chain lubrication.
Î
Check the chain brake is working.
Î
Check saw chain oil level.
Î
Check device for leaks.
Cutting chain oil
WARNING!
Risk of damage to the tool
Use of old oil can result in damage to the
oil pump, cutting bar and chain!

Never use old oil to lubricate the chain.
CAUTION!
Environmental pollution
¾
Chain oil is released into the environ-
ment during operation, therefore, special
biodegradable vegetable oil should be
used as a chain oil.
Attention!
Only operate the tool with sufficient chain oil.
¾
Check the oil volume via the oil level indicator.
Note
The
approximately 180 ml tank volume is
only sufficient for about 25 min running time.

CAUTION!
Risk of slipping due to spilt oil

Take care not to spill any oil.
¾
Immediately wipe up any spilt oil.
Attention!
¾
Ensure that no dirt gets into the oil tank.

Slowly unscrew the tank cap and take it off

Fill carefully with chain lubricating oil to about
1 cm below the bottom edge of the filler

Î
Replace the tank cap and screw it tight

The oil level can be seen in the oil fill level
indicator

Checking the chain brake
I
The chain brake immediately blocks the saw chain if
a kickback occurs.

Chain brake is activated.

of the hand guard:
Work position (chain brake is deactivated).

gency): Tilt the hand guard towards the cutting bar
tip

Loosening the chain brake (work position): Pull
hand guard towards the bow-shaped handle until
it engages

Note
With the chain brake activated/triggered, the
motor is automatically, simultaneously shut
down. The device can only be switched back
on again once the chain brake has been
released.
Before starting work with the device, check that the
chain brake is in perfect working order.

Tilt the hand guard towards the cutting bar tip to
activate the chain brake.
Î
Switch the device on.

The device must not be able to be switched on /
the chain must not move.
Î
Pull the hand guard right back to release the chain
brake.
Î
Switch the device on.

The chain must move.
Î
Do not use the device if the chain brake is defec
-
tive/not working. Have the device serviced by a
workshop before further use.
Note
Always release the chain brake immediately
before starting work.
